Our mission is to create a virtuous cycle where research quality continues to improve, where research collaboration increases and where research is more fully valued, supported and incorporated into the healing professions. Specifically, the Research Coop is building...
1. A New Model for Global Collaboration
A cooperative association, by life science researchers, for life science researchers, collaborating globally through 40+ AI powered digital global labs.
2. Affordable access to more than 40 major datasets, and more to come. Indeed, the Co-op will be able to significantly lower the cost of data access by streaming data directly from generators to users. No fine print. No contracts.
3. Grant matching funds and fee offsets (as in pay the publishing fees) for members is based on lab participation, collaboration and mentoring. We acknowledge how crazy that might sound. To fund based on your ability to do science, not write grant applications.
4. Smart Tools for Smarter Science
From statistical validation tools to AI-powered peer review, literature gap analyzer and hypothesis generator, the Co-op makes you more productive, reduce wasted time and create more effective and relevant feedback loops. We also help match your work with the best journal.

About seven years ago I began to make a case for a Life Science Research Cooperative as an antidote to the current system which underfunds and undervalues the process of creating, testing and disseminating life science research.

My intention was to create the research eco-system we’ve always wanted, but seemed, perhaps, impossible.
The idea is to keep the soul of science intact, even as the COOP generates significant funding dollars for research. No strings. Reliable. Steady.

Co-op economics are powerful. 42,000 co-ops exist in the U.S. including several very large member-owned companies. The Life Science Research Co-op is a self-funding, ethical, inclusive and powerfully collaborative economic engine. Profits come from streaming data and knowledge and charging subscription fees to private industry for access. Pricing to industry is very affordable because streaming costs are low. The Life Science Research Co-op will compete in the $100 billion data and knowledge industry - but as the only Co-op -- by researchers, for researchers and whose profits return to its members to fund research.

Each lab will include the members personal work space, a suite of AI tools such as hypothesis generator, end point justification, PRISMA compliance checks, literature gap analyzer, reviewer simulation, invite a statistician and invite a methods expert. We also build in a kind of journal matching tool, which makes sure your work goes to the best of more than 1,000 Life Science Journals.
